Peractor on your devices
Five surfaces over one account — browser, Mac, Windows and Linux, iPhone and iPad, Android.
Peractor runs on five surfaces, all over the same account. Sign in anywhere and you see the same organizations, projects, tasks, and runs — updating live as things change.
You do not have to pick one. Most people start a run at their desk, approve it from their phone, and read the transcript later in a browser.
The web dashboard
peractor.com/dashboard — the full product in a browser, with nothing to install. Overview and usage meters, the task board and views, run pages with the live transcript and gate panel, the workflow and instruction editors, the wiki, members, and settings.
Right-click a row or card to reach its actions, or focus it and press Shift+F10. Row menus include copying its text and, where the row is a link, opening or copying that link. Selected text and text fields keep the browser's own copy and editing menus.
A file's name in the Assets breadcrumb opens the same menu as its row or tile, including opening, downloading, copying its path or link, renaming, moving and deleting it.
Edit and create files in Assets
Open a Markdown, text, SVG, HTML or CSV file to edit it with the same editor used in Code. Save and preview work there too.
For a photo, document or any other file, open its menu and choose Edit with agent…. For example, select an image and ask to change its background to blue. To generate new files, choose Create with agent… from the + menu, which also offers Upload…, or from a folder's menu. These actions are available in every client.
The usual New run form opens with a request such as “Edit the asset at assets/brand/logos/app-icon.png:” already filled in. Edit or complete that request, choose a workflow equipped for the file type, and start it. Image generation and document editing use that workflow's configured tools, skills and credentials. If a tool is missing, the agent reports what it needs. Watch the run, inspect its outputs, and request changes; review and merging follow the workflow you selected. Work is saved on the run's branch and lands in Assets when it is merged into the selected destination branch.
An Assets folder can also be kept outside the repository — in Peractor's storage, or a bucket of your organization's (see Where files are kept). It reads, uploads and saves the same way, but has no branches, and a run can't work on its files yet.
In a project with restricted folders, such a run must include every one of them — tick them all under Include restricted folders — so only someone who can open them all can run it. Otherwise its phase fails before anything runs: "Runs on assets can't leave files out yet, so this one can't run while the project has restricted folders it doesn't include."
The Mac app
A native macOS app, not a wrapped web page. It has a sidebar with your
organizations and projects, multiple windows and tabs, a run inspector,
a menu bar extra, quick open with ⌘K, back and forward
per window, and real drag-and-drop on the board.
Right-click a destination and choose Open in New Tab, or hold
⌘ while clicking it. This works for runs, tasks, cycles,
library records, wiki pages, assets, commits, dashboard links and settings
pages that have a tab destination, including app links inside markdown
and task activity. The new tab comes forward while the original stays
open.
Closing the active tab returns to the tab you most recently used that is still open. Open a ZIP, photo, video or document from Assets and close it to return to the library; an older preview beside it does not take focus. Closing a background tab keeps your current tab in front.
Right-click a tab on Mac, or long-press it on iPad, to close it, close the other tabs, close tabs to its left or right, close saved tabs, or close all tabs in that reader. Close Saved Tabs keeps unsaved files and forms open. Other bulk closes ask before discarding unsaved work; cancelling keeps the tabs open. Each action affects only its split pane.
File menus in Code and Assets offer the same common commands in their lists and breadcrumbs: open here, in a tab, window or split; reveal in Finder or open in another app when a local repository is configured; view file history; copy, share, rename or delete. Assets also offers Download and Move to. File History opens the outline’s History view filtered to that file, with a clear button to return to the whole repository or library. It uses the same history list in Code, Wiki and Assets. The Assets outline lists files and folders. Click a folder to expand or collapse it; double-click to open its contents in the Assets tab, bringing that tab forward or opening it if needed. Open file tabs stay available. Images including SVG open at their original dimensions, or scale down to fit the reader if larger. Small images are never enlarged. Videos use the same original-size-or-fit default. HTML, reports, tables and font specimens also support zoom. Their status bar offers zoom out, the current percentage (press to choose Fit or a fixed zoom preset), zoom in and full screen. Full screen shows only the file and its status controls; the Mac workbench keeps its size and tabs. Press Esc or Exit full screen to return. The background and playback controls fill the reader pane without resizing the picture.
The Windows and Linux desktop app
The dashboard's screens in a proper desktop window, with the things a
browser tab cannot do: your session in the operating system's credential
store, native notifications when a run finishes in the background, and
peractor:// links that open the app.
iPhone, iPad, and Android
Native apps for the half of the loop that happens away from a desk. Watch the live transcript, approve gates or request changes, answer mid-run questions, review diffs with per-line comments, try a preview and draw on it, work the board, read and edit the wiki, and talk to the assistant.
Push notifications arrive for the moments that actually need you. iPad gets a two-column layout with a sidebar rather than a stretched phone screen.
Things worth knowing across devices
- Several accounts at once. On the phones, the Mac, and the web you can be signed in as more than one person and switch between them instantly. Nothing signs out, and each account keeps its own notifications and cached work.
- The phones and the Mac work offline, honestly. The runs list, the backlog, the wiki, and your assistant conversations are kept on the device and drawn immediately, marked as a saved copy, while the fresh one loads. On a phone, a gold strip across the top says You're offline while there's no connection. A lift or a flight shows you what you had rather than a spinner. Office files you have opened in Code stay editable with no connection on every surface — see Working offline.
- They pick up where you left off. Close the app on a transcript and it reopens on that transcript, for up to a day.
- Share anything. Every run, task, workflow, instruction, trigger, and app has one link, on every surface. See Sharing.
- Light or dark. Follows your system by default; the phones and the Mac also have their own picker.
Availability
Peractor is in private beta. The desktop and mobile builds are on the way — the download page is the live source of truth, and requesting access gets you in. Self-hosters build from source.
